Zhichao Ma has successfully developed a series of testing devices inside SEM, such as miniature tensile, bending, fatigue, and combined loading devices. Particularly, as the core member of Project for Development of National Major Scientific Instruments, he has co-developed the world’s first multi-loads-physical fields coupling in-situ testing instrument, which has been used in more than 100 universities, institutes, and enterprises, including Peking University, Zhejiang University, Central Iron & Steel Research Institute, AVIC Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Co., Ltd., Zhongjie Machine Tool Co., Ltd. and Northeast Light Alloy Co., Ltd.
Ma has made outstanding contributions to the safety service and reliability improvement of materials, and promoted the transformation, and upgrading of traditional testing machines. His research revealed the correlation between micro-deformation and mechanical properties of materials under electromechanical-thermal-electromagnetic coupling conditions.
Through the application of technologies and instruments co-developed by Dr. Ma, the relevant enterprises have achieved remarkable economic benefits. He helped build the first in-situ mechanical testing instrument production line in China, which promoted the transformation and upgrading of traditional testing machines, and improved the stability and reliability of materials in the nuclear industry, aerospace, and other fields. Through using the co-developed technologies and instruments, the relevant enterprises have achieved remarkable economic benefits.
