"In Peru useful climate information is in a high demand by farmers. In light of the scarcity of resources such as the efficient use of irrigation water, and with to the aim of increasing the resilience of the Peru´s costal agricultural sector in relation to climate change, Victor has developed a service that records, processes and transfers climate and irrigation information at a low cost.
The climate-related data is measured by weather stations, installed in the valleys of Peru and manufactured by RITEC, a company founded by this innovative young man in 2008. This new system helps farmers to optimize water use through appropriate programming, based on parameters such as soil moisture and climate conditions. This is how Ramirez´s company reduces production costs and energy consumption and thereby helps to improve the conditions of one of the most characteristic sectors in Peru."
