At just 24 years old, Hugo Mercier is already working hard on solving an epidemic that affects nearly one third of the population: poor sleep. Mercier currently serves as Co-founder & CEO of Rythm, a neurotechnology company that is currently developing the first active, non-invasive sleep wearable called Dreem. Dreem improves sleep quality through neural stimulations that promote deep sleep using sound. It offers a newer, safer, more effective solution to address this public health problem of suboptimal sleep. Mercier has completed clinical trials with Hotel Dieu Hospital in Paris, and Pr. Damien Léger, and his device has been tested by 500 beta users. He hopes to have the product available for consumers by the summer of 2017.
